Frequently Asked Questions
Aerial FAQs
What's the minimum age for our aerial classes?
The minimum age for our aerial classes is 16, but the liability waiver must be signed by their parent or guardian. Please know that our aerial classes are geared towards adults - meaning music, conversation, etc may have adult language.

*Our rescue animal classes are open to all ages — we love seeing families flow together - especially with adoptable furry friends! We just ask that anyone under 18 be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Are there any contraindications for Aerial?
If you have any of the following conditions, we do not recommend that you practice Aerial.

Glaucoma, Untreated Hypertension, Recent Dental Surgery, Recent Botox, Recent Surgery, Hernia, Vertigo, Head Injury, Sinusitis, Stroke, Herniated or Slipped Disks.

Pregnancy:
We always recommend speaking with your doctor before participating in any movement class while pregnant, especially aerial.
While every pregnancy is different, we do not recommend starting aerial for the first time during pregnancy. Aerial movement involves inversions, pressure on the core, balancing, and unique positioning in the hammock — all of which may pose risks or discomfort depending on your stage of pregnancy.
Even in grounded movement classes, pregnant students should take special care to avoid:
-
Lying flat on the back for extended periods
-
Deep twists or compressions
-
Intense core engagement or pressure on the belly
-
Overheating, especially in heated classes
If you are an experienced aerialist and have cleared participation with your provider, please let your instructor know before class so we can modify where possible.
I'm New to Aerial. Can I still join?
Absolutely! We love beginners. Many of our classes are open-level, and our instructors are trained to offer pose and exercise variations to support all levels. If you are new to aerial consider trying any of the classes labled Level 1, Jiggle and Fly, or Low Hammock.
What should I wear to aerial?
Wearing the right clothing helps protect both you and our equipment, while keeping you comfortable as you fly.
Please follow these guidelines:
-
Fitted pants like leggings or joggers — they allow the fabric to glide smoothly and help reduce skin friction.
-
A top that covers your armpits to prevent chafing and maintain fabric hygiene.
-
No shoes — barefoot is best or socks are welcomed!
-
No clothing with zippers, buttons, or metal details — these can snag and damage the fabric.
-
Please remove all jewelry, including rings, bracelets, necklaces, and dangling earrings. Jewelry can tear the fabric, break during class, or even cause injury if it gets caught.
Wearing the right gear ensures a safe, fun, and smooth experience for everyone — including our hammocks!

I'm running late to class. Can I still join?
We totally get that life happens — traffic, last-minute work meetings, etc — we’ve been there! But out of respect for your safety and the experience of everyone in class, we cannot admit students more than 3 minutes late.
Here’s why:
-
The warm-up is crucial for preventing injury. If you miss it, you miss a key part of safely participating.
-
We lock the front door shortly after class starts to keep everyone (and their belongings!) safe inside.
-
Late arrivals can be disruptive, especially in aerial, where the teacher has to pause class to adjust hammocks — not fair to your fellow students.
-
We aim to start and end classes on time for everyone’s schedule.
If you're running late, please cancel your reservation in the Momence app to free up your spot.
Please Note:
-
Late cancels (within 6 hours of most classes) incur a $10 fee due to our limited class sizes.
-
No-shows (or arriving after the door is locked) are subject to a no-show fee of $15.
And we kindly ask: please don’t knock on the studio door or window once class has started. We promise we’re not ignoring you — we’re just fully present with the students inside.
Do I have to have a membership to attend class?
Nope! We offer drop-in class options as well. A single aerial class is $30, and a single grounded class is $25.

If you are interested in coming to more than one class, we do offer flexible pricing, class packs, and memberships. Learn more about these options on our Pricing Page.
Do you offer a new student deal?
Yes! We offer 2 Weeks of unlimited classes for new students. This deal includes both aerial and grounded classes. The membership starts on the date that you first book, not the date you buy it.
